Deleting your Petarian record
Last reviewed: August 2026
From the app
This is the fastest route, and it does not need anybody's approval.
- Sign in to the Petarian Alumni Network.
- Open Profile, then Privacy.
- Choose Delete my record and confirm.
Your record disappears from the directory immediately. Nobody can search for you, and your profile stops resolving for anyone who saved a link to it.
If you cannot sign in
Email the Secretariat from the address on your record, saying that you want it deleted and giving your KitNo. If you no longer control that address, say so — they will verify you against the college file record before removing anything, because an unverified deletion request is indistinguishable from someone trying to erase another Petarian.
What is deleted, and what is kept
| What | What happens to it |
|---|---|
| Your name, KitNo, house, dates, contact details, addresses, employment, social links and photograph | Deleted within 30 days. |
| Your sign-in account | Deleted. The email address is freed and can register again later. |
| Your device token for push notifications | Deleted, and already removed whenever you sign out. |
| The audit log entry recording that a Secretariat decision was made on a record | Kept, but anonymised. The link to you is severed and your email address and phone number are stripped. The log records that a decision happened, not who you were — that history is what makes the register trustworthy, and it cannot identify you once your record is gone. |
Timing
Your record leaves the directory the moment you request deletion. The data itself is purged within 30 days — the delay exists so that an account deleted by mistake, or by someone who briefly had your phone, can be recovered by contacting the Secretariat within that window. After 30 days it is not recoverable by anyone.
Registering again
Deleting your record does not bar you from the Network. Your KitNo returns to the register as available, and you can register again from scratch — you will go through Secretariat verification as a new submission.
